MG is a familiar sight on Sydney roads, and windscreen damage on a MG is something we see often. Most MG windscreens are a routine job, but newer models usually carry a driver-assistance camera on the glass, and that needs planning for.
MG calls its driver-assistance suite MG Pilot. On models fitted with it, a forward camera on the windscreen handles functions such as lane-keeping assist and speed-sign recognition, working with a radar in the front bumper. MG’s own documentation notes that the camera needs recalibrating after a windscreen replacement.
When the windscreen is replaced, the camera is moved to the new glass. Because it reads the road through the windscreen, it may need to be recalibrated so features like lane-keep assist and automatic emergency braking work as designed. Calibration costs vary by vehicle and are quoted separately; Aussie AutoGlass coordinates with specialist calibration providers where it’s needed.

MG windscreens vary between models and grades, particularly on whether MG Pilot is fitted. Giving us your registration or VIN when you request a quote helps us match the correct glass. Our guide to OEM vs aftermarket windscreens explains your options.
Most MGs on Sydney roads are relatively new, so glass is generally available. Providing your build year and grade helps us source the correct windscreen first time.
A small chip on a MG windscreen can often be repaired if it is away from the edge and outside the camera area. Stone chip and crack repairs start from $110. Long cracks, edge damage or damage in front of the camera usually mean replacement. Windscreen replacement with Aussie AutoGlass starts from $330, depending on your vehicle. Only vehicles with a windscreen-mounted camera or sensor. Older models and some base grades do not have one.
It relies on the windscreen camera, so it should be checked after calibration.
