What Causes Windscreen Seal Failure?

Urethane adhesive doesn’t last forever. Over years of sun exposure, temperature swings and general vibration, the seal can dry out, shrink or crack – especially on older vehicles that have never had the windscreen touched.

Poor-Quality Prior Installation

A rushed or incorrectly applied seal is one of the most common causes of early failure. If the urethane wasn’t applied evenly, the surface wasn’t properly prepped, or the wrong adhesive was used, the seal can fail years – or even months – after installation.

Rust and Frame Damage
