Side window and door glass replacement starts from $165, and we come to you. Like rear glass, door glass is toughened rather than laminated, so it shatters completely instead of cracking. It is also the glass most often broken deliberately — a smashed driver or passenger window is one of the most common calls we get, usually the morning after a break-in.
Door glass sits in a channel and moves, which adds complexity a fixed pane does not have. The replacement has to be seated correctly in the regulator mechanism, aligned so it seals against the weather strip, and checked through its full travel. Get the alignment wrong and you get wind noise at speed, water ingress in rain, or a window that binds and eventually damages the regulator motor.

If your window has been smashed in a break-in, there are a couple of things worth doing before we arrive. Photograph the damage before clearing anything, in case you are making an insurance claim or a police report. Avoid brushing fragments deeper into the door cavity — glass that falls inside the door can foul the regulator later. And do not leave the vehicle open overnight if you can avoid it; temporary covering is worth the effort. See our guide on mobile windscreen repair near you for how quickly we can usually attend.

Our starting prices are the same across greater Sydney, with no call-out fee:

The final quote depends on your vehicle, the glass specification and whether calibration is needed. We confirm the exact figure before starting. See what windscreen replacement costs in Sydney for a fuller breakdown.
If your side glass is factory-tinted or has aftermarket film applied, the replacement needs to match. Factory privacy glass is tinted through the glass itself, not filmed, so it must be replaced like for like. Aftermarket film has to be reapplied to the new pane, and any tint must stay within NSW legal limits — front side windows are held to a stricter standard than rear. Our window tinting service can re-film the new glass to match.

No. Door glass is toughened, so it either survives intact or shatters completely. Replacement from $165 is the only route.
Same-day or next-day is usually possible depending on the vehicle and current bookings. Broken side glass tends to be urgent because the vehicle is not secure, so tell us that when you call.
A proper job includes clearing fragments from the door cavity, not just the visible ones. Glass left inside can foul the window regulator months later.
